About Our Neuromuscular ProgramOur organization’s Neuromuscular program stands as a clinical frontrunner within the state. We proudly host the first MDA Care Center established by the Muscular Dystrophy Association in South Carolina. Additionally, we are recognized as an ALS Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence and are part of the Northeast ALS (NEALS) consortium.
We Are Looking For Candidates Who:- Emphasize collaboration, innovation, and teamwork.
- Possess expertise in nerve and muscle disorders.
- Hold board certification or eligibility in Neurology and Neuromuscular diseases, as well as EMG and/or Clinical Neurophysiology.
- Have a passion for academia and teaching.
- 100% outpatient role with inpatient coverage managed by Neurohospitalists.
- Strong interdisciplinary specialty support available.
- Engagement in teaching medical students, neurology residents, and neurophysiology fellows.
- Opportunities to participate in neuromuscular clinical trial research, with numerous collaborative possibilities across the university and access to mentorship from senior investigators.
- Incorporation of up to 3/8ths of the position with the Ralph H Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
- 10-20% of unassigned time for personal projects.
- Minimal on-call responsibilities, requiring only 1-2 nights per month.
- Support for special interests within the field.
Our collaborative team consists of:
- 2 Faculty members
- 1 Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
- Comprehensive administrative support staff
- EMG lab technicians
- Nursing staff
We offer advanced diagnostics, multidisciplinary planning, and a wide range of medical and innovative therapies. Our newly renovated facilities are specifically designed to cater to the needs of neuromuscular patients.
We also provide several exceptional interdisciplinary clinics that offer advanced diagnostic testing, rehabilitation services, post-clinic care coordination, and social services, including:
- MDA Care Center
- ALS Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence
- Membership in the Northeast ALS (NEALS) consortium
- A tenure track faculty position with academic rank and salary aligned with qualifications and achievements.
